                Introduction to the 2020 Fall Meeting of the Chinese Physical Society

                The CPS Fall Meeting was initiated in 1999, and has been held in every September since then. During last 20 years, we witnessed its rapid growth from about 300 participants in 1999 to over 5500 in 2019.  It is one of the most important academic occasions for Chinese physicists. Since 2020, we will cosponsor with American Physical Society to establish a joint session “Physics Education”. This session will be held on 25-27 September, 2020 in Lanzhou, China.

                Physics Education is the main content of the fundamental education research. Made the connotation of physics, especially the culture connotation understood by all the students is very necessarily. Physics Education is one of the vital components of liberal education. It aims not only to cover the full array of experimental and theoretical research relating to the teaching and learning of college physics, but also to cultivate students' generic skills and desirable personal attributes, so that they can attain a whole-person development.

                Physics Education is an optimal platform for academic communications, exchange of ideas and inspirations between leading specialists, scholars and scientists on all aspects of physics and physics education. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Physics Education.

                All hot issues in experimental and theoretical physics education research are accepted, including, but not limited to (1)Physics Education, (2) Teaching Strategies, (3) Physics Experiments, (4) Physics Course Reform, (5) Educational Technology, (6) Physics Education Research, (7) Physical Problems and Research, (8) Physics and Information Technology.

                This session is jointly organized by CPS and APS. We hope to make it informative, encouraging young scientists and graduate students for participation.
